Getting there
If you’re coming by car: what Area C and Area B are, how blue-line parking works and why it’s better to leave the car and get around by metro.
The suite: is outside Area C, the historic centre’s restricted traffic zone (ZTL)
Area B: restricts access for the most polluting vehicles across almost the entire city
Tip: park the car and take the metro
Area C is the city centre’s restricted traffic zone, inside the ring of the old city walls (Cerchia dei Bastioni). On weekdays during the day you can only enter by paying for a ticket, and some vehicles can’t enter at all. Cameras record every entry. Via Mercadante is outside Area C: you don’t need to cross it to reach the suite.
Area B covers most of the municipal area and bans the most polluting vehicles on weekdays, based on their Euro emissions class and fuel type. If your car is older, check the City of Milan (Comune di Milano) website before you set off.
Blue lines mark paid parking (via meter or app), while yellow lines are reserved for residents. Around Loreto and Centrale there are several paid garages, handy for stays of several days: it’s best to book them online.
In Milan you’ll hardly need a car: from the suite the M1, M2 and M3 lines are a few minutes’ walk away and you’ll get everywhere faster. Park when you arrive and pick the car up again on the day you leave. For up-to-date hours and rules, always check the City of Milan website.
