Itineraries
The Duomo, Brera, the Castello, the Navigli and modern Milan: two ready-to-follow itineraries.
From Via Mercadante the centre is just a few minutes away by metro: the M1 red line from Lima reaches the Duomo in a handful of stops. Here are two itineraries, one for a single day and one for two, to see the best of Milan without rushing.
Morning
Breakfast at a historic café such as Marchesi 1824 or Pasticceria Cova, then Milan Cathedral (the Duomo) with its panoramic rooftop terraces, and the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.
Late morning
Carry on to the Teatro alla Scala and make your way to the Castello Sforzesco, with a stroll through Parco Sempione.
Lunch
A typical Milanese lunch in the Brera district, among boutiques, galleries and elegant corners.
Afternoon
If you can get tickets, Santa Maria delle Grazie and the Last Supper (book well in advance). Otherwise, the Museo del Novecento, or some shopping along Via Montenapoleone and Corso Vittorio Emanuele.
Evening
Aperitivo on the Navigli, the most characterful area to soak up the Milanese atmosphere.
Day 1
Morning: the Duomo, its terraces, the Galleria and La Scala. Afternoon: Castello Sforzesco, Parco Sempione, the Pinacoteca di Brera and shopping. Evening: aperitivo on the Navigli and a traditional Milanese dinner.
Day 2
Morning: the Last Supper, if available, or else Fondazione Prada or the Museo del Novecento. Afternoon: CityLife, the Bosco Verticale and a ride on a historic tram. Evening: dinner in the Isola or Porta Romana area.
And in the evening, if you’d rather stay close to the suite, Corso Buenos Aires and Porta Venezia have restaurants and bars just a few minutes’ walk away: you’ll find our tips in the Where to eat guide.
