The harvest for sparkling base wines takes place in late summer, and the 2026 Festival Franciacorta in Cantina already took place on September 18\u201320, but in autumn the vineyards change color and many wineries (from Erbusco to Adro, Corte Franca and Provaglio) offer visits with tastings by reservation. Alternatively, the regional Milan\u2013Brescia trains stop at <strong>Rovato<\/strong>, the closest station to Erbusco: from there you&#8217;ll need a taxi. You can reach Voghera or Stradella by train, but to get around the wineries you&#8217;ll need a car or an organized tour. It can be combined with a visit to Pavia and its Certosa.<\/p><p><strong>Valtellina<\/strong>: Nebbiolo vineyards (known here as Chiavennasca) on dizzying terraces, producing Valtellina Superiore and Sforzato. It&#8217;s the area where the harvest comes latest, often in October.
